Call for Submissions on Climate Smart Agricultural Systems for a Sustainable Transition in the Agri-food Systems of the Dry Areas
After its previous versions in 2016 in Montpellier (France) and 2018 in Bari (Italy), CIHEAM-IAMM with the support of ICARDA and IRESA-Tunisia are pleased to announce the opening Call for Submissions for the upcoming Mediterranean Forum 2021.
The forum is organized under the 7th Farming System Design (FSD) Symposium which will take place on 21-24 March 2021 in Tunisia.
This symposium aims to discuss findings and initiatives for dryland agri-food systems, using as an entry point of integration (down to the field and up to landscape, market and ecosystems) in the farm household and its role in sustainable food production within an uncertain climatic and socio-economic context. With additional growing uncertainties around the globe as witnessed by the recent spread of the novel COVID-19, the question of food security and self-sufficiency is progressively more pressing and designing innovative farming systems is becoming key.
